Good News: We are going to be open until 6:00pm (door locking at 5:30pm) on Wednesdays starting August 5, 2026. CDL Permits will stop at 4:00pm and Regular Driving and Motorcycle Permits will stop at 5:00pm.

** OFFICE HOURS are Mon-Fri from 8am to 4:00pm. We will be locking the doors at 3:30pm, daily, to ensure that every person that is waiting inside the office, gets waited on that day. We stop regular and motorcycle permits at 3:00pm and CDLs at 2:00pm. If you have any concerns about this, please talk to Nikki.
* Have a QUESTION and can't seem to reach us on the phone? Our phone lines are constantly ringing and it can be very frustrating for you. You can email us at dmv@clintoncountyny.gov for answers to your questions, or have forms sent to you. You can also have your Insurance Cards or other documents emailed directly and they will be in the office waiting for you when you arrive. Emails are answered throughout the day.
- Traveling from the north or south on Route 9, the DMV office is located at the corner of Margaret and Cornelia Streets, on the first floor of the Clinton County Government Center.
- From I-87 north or south, use Exit 37, turn onto Cornelia Street and continue to the corner of Margaret Street.
