Open burning is not permitted in the City of Plattsburgh pursuant to City Ordinance. Some towns require permits. Links to access those permits are included below. Note that Town located in the Adirondack Park are called Fire Towns and permits issued by the NYS DEC are required for open burning.
This is a listing of the Fire Departments that are participating in the Clinton County Fire Mutual Aid Plan.
Note that there are departments serving in both Clinton and Essex County in New York as well as departments from Vermont and Canada.
Note also that all the departments are all 100% volunteer with the exception of the City of Plattsburgh Fire Dept. and the Plattsburgh International Airport Fire Department which are both career fire departments.
Addresses are provided for the main station of any department that has more than one station. A phone number if provided is for the department's main station and/or administrative office. The numbers provided are not emerency numbers.
