Protect your pet from rabies! Vaccination is mandatory in New York State for dogs, cats and ferrets over 4 months of age. Remember, your dog or cat can be vaccinated for rabies when it turns 3 months of age. One year after the first dose, your pet requires a booster, which is then good for three years. For the rest of your pet's life, it should have a booster shot every three years.

When your child comes home from daycare or school announcing that he or she has lice, most parents react to the news with feelings of anxiety, anger, or being overwhelmed. Lice are not known to cause disease, The known health risk is the potential for infection, which can be caused by scratching the itchy infested areas.
Head lice survive less than 1-2 days if they fall off a person and cannot feed; nits cannot hatch and usually die within a week if they are not kept at the same temperature as that found close to the scalp.

Bed bugs are small, wingless, red-brownish, flattened insects that feed solely on the blood of animals. The common bed bug, Cimex lectularius, is the species most adapted to living with humans.
When do Bed Bugs Bite?
Bed bugs usually bite people at night while they are sleeping. They feed by piercing the skin with an elongated beak through which they withdraw blood. Engorgement takes about three to 10 minutes, yet the person seldom knows they are being bitten.
