Francois Amable Monty

Born in Chambly, Canada, Monty settled in Chazy with his family in 1774. Monty fought for the Americans under Colonel Livingston in the First Canadian Regiment after enlisting on November 25, 1775. While serving, Francois went by the name “Francis”. Francois was discharged on January 21, 1781, after the 1st Canadian Regiment was deactivated.
