The Clinton County Advocacy Center, a victim services program which has operated out of the Probation Department since 1996 through grant funding from the New York State Office of Victim Services, ceased operations on October 1, 2014. Unfortunately funding for continuation of the program from the NYS Office of Victim Services was lost in this year’s grant application process. The Clinton County Advocacy Center specialized in comprehensive services for crime victims which included educating crime victims about their legal rights, advocacy through the legal process, referrals to counseling and services, victim impact preparation and assistance with filing claims with the NYS Office of Victim Services.
