The mission of the Clinton County Department of Probation/Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI) is to enhance community safety by providing supervision of adult and juvenile offenders.  This is accomplished by serving as a conduit for positive change, overseeing the compliance of probationers mandated with an alternative to incarceration sentence and by compassionately addressing the needs of and providing support to victims of crime.  We accomplish our mission through a full range of supervision services, which join with various community based and local service agencies designed to provide innovative programming to prevent crime, re-victimization and delinquency. 

Directions to the Department:

I-87 North to Exit 38S (Rt-22S, Plattsburgh).  Continue on Route 22-S (North Catherine Street).  Turn left onto Route 3 (Cornelia Street).  Turn right onto US-9 (Margaret Street).  Turn right onto Court Street.  Probation Department entrance is the first right on Court Street.

The Clinton County Probation Department recognizes the importance of sustained employment for individuals under community supervision. Employment provides individuals a means to self-sufficiency and the ability to support their families, as well as the capacity to structure their time in positive ways. Probation also understands the needs of area employers and their ability to ask questions of probation officers about work schedules and other work environment related issues. Accordingly, the Clinton County Probation Department has designated a single point of contact or Probation Employment Liaison officer to communicate with area employers.
